‘Star Wars’ Director Cheers Fan Campaign To Remake His ‘Last Jedi’ Film

There is a sour group of “Star Wars” fans who really want us to forget about Rian Johnson’s “The Last Jedi.” They dislike the film so much they’ve even gone so far as campaigning to raise money for a remake.  Their (very reputable looking) website allows you to add your email address in support and even pledge a dollar amount toward the project, though no financial information is collected from visitors, so it appears purely symbolic. The people behind the site claim they have unnamed producers who will ultimately cover the…

‘Star Wars’ Spinoffs Suspended After Tepid ‘Solo’ Box Office: Report

The “Star Wars” galaxy just shrank. Lucasfilm has put plans “on hold” for more spinoff films like “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” Collider reported Wednesday. Citing “sources with knowledge of the situation,” the entertainment news site said the franchise will laser in on “Star Wars: Episode IX” and the next trilogy that springs from the original core of movies. That means reported plans for Obi-Wan and Boba Fett movies are apparently cosmic dust for now, according to Collider. The “Star Wars” trend of its films making money hand over fist came…

8 Things On Netflix To Watch If Like The ‘The Office’ Actors

“The Office” will likely stay on Netflix for a very long time, despite a recent viral hoax claiming otherwise.  As long as you have a Netflix subscription, you’ll be able to watch “The Office” over and over and over again like many subscribers seem to be doing.  But if you’re an obsessed fan who has already watched the show and still wants to check out something new, you might not know where to start. You could begin by heading to the Streamline list of related recommendations, but maybe you specifically want…

‘Jurassic World’ Actress Says Lesbian Moment Was Cut From Film

Things you won’t be seeing in “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”: Bryce Dallas Howard’s high heels, and apparently an explicitly queer moment.  Ahead of the highly anticipated sequel’s release on Friday, actress Daniella Pineda, who plays paleo-veterinarian Dr. Zia Rodriguez in the film, teased that a scene in which her character reveals she was a lesbian was left on the cutting room floor.  “I understood why they cut it — for sake of time. It’s me and Chris Pratt, and we are in a military vehicle with all of these mercenaries,” Pineda…

John Travolta’s ‘Gotti’ Gets 0 Percent Rotten Tomatoes Score

The John Travolta mafia movie “Gotti” won’t be attracting much of a mob in theaters if Rotten Tomatoes has anything to do with it. The biopic of crime boss John Gotti (Travolta) received a 0 percent score on the movie review aggregation site as of Monday morning. The 23 reviews so far all registered “rotten.” Critics piled on the mafia references to send the movie to a dirt nap on its opening weekend. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone wrote that the flick “deserves to get whacked” and “is an offer Travolta…

All The Best Looks From The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards

The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards doesn’t air until Monday night, but stars got the party started early for its taping on Saturday at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, with some eye-popping looks.  The awards show brought out an array of celebrities, from Kristen Bell to the ladies of “Riverdale” and Kim Kardashian, who walked the red carpet with her hair in cornrows (ugh) next to mother Kris Jenner. The show is hosted ― finally! ― by Tiffany Haddish. And the “Girls Trip” star ―  who, for once, didn’t…

Modern Women Bring Voice To ‘70s Letters In An Inventive Documentary, Fusing Past With Present

“I think all men are chauvinistic pigs now. I’d like to know what to do about that,” a young woman reads into the camera, one of 27 vignettes in “Yours in Sisterhood,” an unconventional and provocative documentary featuring women in the present day reading and discussing letters sent by women in the 1970s to the editors of Ms. magazine. In developing the project, filmmaker Irene Lusztig read thousands of archived letters to the magazine, founded by feminist icon Gloria Steinem, most of which were unpublished. Then, from 2015 to 2017,…

Mark Hamill Toys With The Dark Side Of Father’s Day

In the epic “Star Wars” film franchise, Mark Hamill played Luke Skywalker, part of one of the most well-known father-son relationships ever portrayed on the movie screen. So it seems only fitting that the actor would acknowledge it on Father’s Day. But like many fathers, Darth Vader couldn’t resist going for the last word. A Twitter account purporting to be the Star Wars villain tweeted to Hamill: Dear @hamillhimself, Did your Father’s Day card get lost in the mail? Let me know. Love, Dad. — Darth Vader (@DepressedDarth) June 17,…

In “Incredibles 2,” we once again follow members of the Parr family who this time take on Screensaver, a mysterious new…
